Welcome!

**April 2012**

In November of last year I began advertising my freelance writing and virtual assistant services. It has been a slow build, but business is accelerating and I'm loving every minute of it. Feel free to peruse more details on the The Right Writing Service page and contact me with any questions or writing needs you may have.

The blog has moved! But you probably noticed that already. The url is different as is the blogging platform. The blog looks different even though all the old content has been moved. I will be blogging regularly again as time permits, because the weather is warm and Little Bear is busy. We've been gardening and baking and doing all sorts of things. With "cwaws!" (Apparently that's how little bears do everything.)

If you've seen my blog then you might have come across the beginnings of my short story A Southern-Fried Serial. The story revolves around Lulabelle, a southern lady who designs and sells pet couture. She becomes reluctantly embroiled in a local scandal at the behest of her mysterious new love interest and big-haired shenanigans ensue! My plan is to have the story finished and up on Amazon for purchase as an eBook, so look for it soon!

**March 2012**

Spring has almost sprung, but there's evidence of the changing season all over this part of the state. Trees are blossoming, our bulbs are sprouting and it feels downright balmy. One of the best parts so far has been my short story acceptance into the erotica anthology FELT TIPS. Released this winter, I'm thrilled to be in such lovely/sexy company. Forty-two stories in the anthology, and all the proceeds go to charity.

My current writing project is turning SOUTHERN FRIED MYSTERY into an ebook. That's right, Lulabelle will be available for sale very soon! If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you can check out the cat couture sewing heroine and the beginning of her first mystery on my blog. Click on the Southern Fried category and read how her adventure began. When the novelette is available for purchase, you'll find a link here.

Poke around and see what's new. Things are just beginning to spring.

**December 2011**
Hope everyone had lovely holidays. Little Bear and I certainly did, celebrating with family and cooking a ridiculous amount of food. (And eating it of course!)

Thanks to some amazing technical support (Hurray for Ben!) the transition to my maiden name Overley is almost complete. In the meantime, just call me loverley...

I'm already looking forward to an amazing 2012. As I was telling one of my Twitter pals, 2012 is OUR YEAR! Yours too, of course. So break out the bubbly and start the celebration. I'll be updating my adventures here.

**Autumn Update**

City of Hell Chronicles Vol. 1

There is no god, no angels, no redemption; only suffering. The Ant-headed Old One ‘The Great Maurr’ has risen and brought hell to earth. The land is scorched and the human race decimated, eaten or tortured. Only three cities remain, a crumbled dying version of their former selves: London, Moscow and Hong Kong. The Great Maurr’s own City of Hell dominates most of North America. Its diabolical influence has turned ordinary citizens into torturers, debased slaves, lunatics and zealots.

With an eruption at Yellowstone, the likes of which humanity has never seen before, The Old-One tore apart the land, and ascended to rule, aided by its faithful army of acolytes. From the core of the earth it crawled up on to the land, spreading disease and insanity to all corners of the globe.

The City of Hell Chronicles tell the tales of survival, death and debauchery.

The first anthology features 8 stories from 7 international authors.

Volume 1 of the chronicles will be released in December 2011 in eBook and Paperback versions.

I have the privilege of being one of the authors contributing to the City of Hell anthology. The name of my story is THE NURSERY, a horrific tale set in the bowels of the City of Hell. Set to be released in December, this collection of horror will make a great holiday gift for the horror fan in your life. More details here: City of Hell Website

Two Shorts!
(It's hot as blazes. You know you wanna wear 'em.)

My writer friends are the best. They vote to make me Empress of the World (by 3 votes!) and let me write creepy stories and post them all over their blogs.

My first story, HIS PET, was posted by Christian Jensen on his blog, Beautiful Stories for Ugly Children. Christian writes squirm-in-your-chair, visceral stories about horror, sex and everything in between. He is constantly writing and has a score of ebooks out there. I'm his devoted follower, and really, you should be too. *Warning: this blog is 18 and older.*

The second story this month, BEWARE THE BAKER, is over at Jason McKinney's blog. The only rule was that I had to keep everyone's clothing intact. Of course I did! But it still has a healthy dose of creepy. Jason writes horror. Werewolf and zombie horror, to be exact. If you're tired of werewolves who want to be your furry friends, definitely check out his book Dog World.

More stories are in the works for August along with guest posts on CreativeSpace. Just click the page and you'll get all the latest and greatest.  As always, thanks for reading!

News in June

The date is set: December 2011. December 26th to be exact. (Let the panic commence!)

I've arranged with the incredibly talented Lynn O'Dell, freelance editor extraordinaire, to have her apply her super-editing prowess on my little 'ol manuscript. Book Burning will be that much closer to publication. Which means that critique feedback needs to be worked through and then Beta-Reader comments assessed and implemented. It's a lot to fit into six months, but full steam ahead.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out the new website. It's under construction as you can clearly see, but stay tuned because big changes are looming in the near future. Soon you'll be able to catch up with the blog and the novel all in one place.

Thanks for reading!
